LIVIGNO AT A GLANCE

Beginners

Beginners are very well catered for at Bormio 2000, at the top of the gondola there are many green slopes with easy drag lifts and magic carpets. However, this does mean that at the end of the day you will have to take the gondola down or if your feeling confident you can ski the blue back down to the village! Over in Livigno the west side of the valley is home to three excellent beginner zones, located on the sunny and gentle slopes on the edge of town. Progression from here is then very good, particularly at Costaccia and across the valley under the new chair at Mottolino.

Intermediates

Most slopes are well over 2000m and are sunowsure because they are backed up by a comprehensive snowmaking system. This best suit intermediate skiers with lots of wide blue runs and some trickier red runs! There is also the Stelvio downhill course.

Advanced

Livigno has some crazy free dire options, huge off-piste sections offer a unique ski style. Alongside this playground there is the GB Park&Pipe snow park, with huge features for the freestyle skiers to enjoy and practice their tricks! Many athletes choose it as their training base for much of winter.

Where’s best to eat on the slopes?

One thing we know is make or break for some ski holidays is the food. Here are our top picks for lunch time restaurants on the slopes in Livigno. Situated up at 2360m high near the Teola Pianoni bassi chair lift you will find the brilliant Camanel di Planon serving chickin dishes, pastas, burgers and toasted sandwiches perfect for a pit stop! Another refuge on the slopes that’s worth a visit is Tea Berghútte. At 1990m high there are some amazing views as well as divine Italian cusisine this restaurant is next to the Livigno Centro Tagliede gondola. There are also more snack bars and pubs on the slopes to re energise and carry on with your skiing.

Aprés-ski

All the Aprés bars in Livigno are at the bottom of the slopes, unlike the French resorts with the bars up at the top of the slopes. There are a few options for the après such as the Alegra bar with music and a live DJs most evenings. If you’re looking for a cosy après bar head over to Milky’s Aperitivo Bar, here you will be served delicious wines, and exciting cocktails. The bar also serves some tasty Italian nibbles.
