5 reasons why you should

visit andorra

this winter

Andorra's resorts are spread across the snow-capped peaks of the Pyrenees, and whether you're a boarder or a skier, Andorra will offer an unrivaled mountain experience. From the great value après ski and warm welcome you'll receive from accommodation providers and locals, to the perfectly groomed pistes and modern lift systems - Andorra will not disappoint.

Andorra is a refreshing change to the hustle and bustle of lots of the traditional ski resorts in places like the Alps. If you're looking for an experience that's just a little bit different this year, keep reading for reasons why you should book Andorra this winter.

300kms of skiing

The three main ski areas in Andorra are now linked which means with the whole area lift pass, you have access to over 300km of piste across Grandvalira (Canillo, El Tarter, Pas de la Casa, Soldeu), Pal-Arinsal (Arinsal, La Massana), and Ordino-Arcalis. This makes the region ideal for a range of abilities.

Ordino-Arcalis is a hidden gem of a ski area with incredible freeride opportunities. Pal-Arinsal and Grandvalira offer skiing for all abilities, with accessible English speaking ski schools and a whole host of more challenging runs to suit everyone.

snow sure resorts

Andorra has a great snow record due to many of the resorts sitting at such a high altitude. Lots of the resorts we work with have a higher average altitude than many well-known European resorts. In addition to their great snow record, Andorra has a well placed network of snow cannons to ensure slopes are perfectly powdered for skiers and boarders to enjoy!

Generally the resorts are open from the beginning of December (the closest Friday to 1st) right through to April.

great value apres ski

For those looking to ski on a budget, Andorra is a great option. The flights, accommodation and lift pass will set you back around the same price or slightly cheaper than most European resorts but you definitely get more bang for your buck in terms of accommodation quality. PLUS (and perhaps the biggest selling point for lots of Brits!) the food and drink while you're in the resort will come in a lot cheaper than the equivalent in most European resorts.

There are lots of great bars, pubs and clubs with incredible atmospheres where you can enjoy €2 pints. Pas de la Casa is our top recommended resort to enjoy the best après on offer in Andorra.

Fantastic food

Foodies will LOVE Andorra. The food on offer is a unique and delicious blend of Mediterranean produce and wintery delights, plus you'll be enjoying your meal with stunning panoramic views over the majestic Pyrenean peaks. There are tonnes of mountain restaurants serving hearty, authentic Andorran cuisine which is perfect for warming you up and refueling after a day spent on the slope. If you're looking for gourmet food, try Hotel Sporting or Hotel Cristina in Pas de la Casa, or Piolets Mountain in Soldeu for a real foodie treat.
